Web app or mobile app?

Picklemix comes two ways: the web app in your browser, and the mobile app — on Android first, with the iPhone app close behind. Both talk to the same Picklemix — one account, the same events, rosters and scores. There is nothing to sync or keep in step: score a game in one and it's already there in the other. Use whichever you prefer, and switch whenever you like.

The web app

Runs on anything with a browser and is always current — improvements are live the moment we ship them. It installs, too: the Get Picklemix on your device section on your Profile page adds it to your home screen, where it opens like any other app. On iPhone, it's the way to go until the App Store app arrives.

The mobile app

Built for courtside. It scans the QR code on a printed scorecard to open that exact game, and scores entered where the signal is bad wait on your phone and send when the connection returns. The store listings are coming soon — Google Play first, then the App Store — and the links will appear in that same install section as they go live.

What's different

New features reach the web first and come to the app build by build — today that means account settings, billing and most organizer tools live on the web. If something seems missing in the app, the web has it.

Why both?

Partly economics, honestly. Reaching you by text message costs real money on every send; a notification through the app costs almost nothing — and keeping our costs down is part of keeping Picklemix affordable. The app also puts the phone's own hardware to work: the camera scans scorecards today, and there's more we expect to do with the device over time. Maintaining both is a commitment we've made deliberately — the web so everything works everywhere immediately, the app for what only a phone can do.

In short: play and score with either; scan scorecards and ride out bad signal with the app; organize and manage your account on the web.
