Scanning scorecards

Score a game by pointing the app at the QR code on its printed scorecard.

Scorecards printed from an event carry a QR code on each game card. Courtside, the hard part of scoring isn't typing 11-7 — it's finding the row that matches the card in your hand. Scanning skips that: the card opens its own game, ready to score.

How

  1. Open the Picklemix app and choose Scan scorecard from the menu.
  2. Point the camera at the QR on the card. The game comes up with its players and any score already entered.
  3. Enter the score.

Score entry is for the event's organizer and scorekeepers — anyone else can scan a card to look at the game. An organizer can hand scoring to anyone from the event's Scorekeepers page.

Two limits worth knowing: best-of-series formats print one card per match rather than per game, and those cards can't be scanned yet — score them from the schedule instead. And the scanner lives in the app; on the web, score from the schedule page.

Scanning uses the camera, so if the scanner won't open, check the app's camera permission in your phone's settings.
