Invitations and the waitlist
What an invitation offers, what the waitlist does when a seat opens, and what leaving gives up.

An event fills one of three ways, chosen by the organizer: they pick the players, they send invitations, or anyone can join. The event page shows you Accept and Decline, Join Event, or Join Waitlist, depending on which and on whether a seat is left.
An invitation
- It reaches you by email, text and in-app notification, with a link to the event.
- Accept takes a seat. Decline asks you to confirm.
- If the event has filled by the time you accept, you join the waitlist instead.
- An invitation you never answer expires the day after the event date.
The waitlist
- When the event is full, the page offers Join Waitlist and shows how many are on it. You are told your position.
- The organizer can cap the waitlist. When it is full, the page says so.
- When a seat opens, the first person on the waitlist takes it and is told by email, text and in-app notification.
- On 8 Player Gender Mixed Rotate Partner RR, the first person whose gender has an open seat takes it.
Leaving
- Leave Event on the event page gives up your seat, your place on the waitlist, or both.
- An invitation you had is withdrawn, so the event stops offering you the seat.
- The next person on the waitlist takes the seat you left.
- If you organize the event and also play, leaving gives up your seat only. You stay the organizer.
- Leaving does not refund an entry fee. See Entry fee refunds.
