When an event collects entry fees online, Picklemix automates settlement calculations, processing fee deductions, charity contributions, and net organizer disbursements through Stripe Connect.
The 4-Step Settlement Hierarchy
When an event reaches completion, EventSettlementService processes gross revenue in a strict four-tier order:
- Charity Contribution (Optional): If configured, the designated charity percentage is deducted directly from pre-tax gross receipts.
- Platform Margin: Picklemix charges twice the Stripe fee (Stripe's processing cost plus an equal platform margin) for automated tournament hosting.
- Messaging Costs: Automated SMS and WhatsApp notification delivery expenses are deducted at cost.
- Organizer Net Payout: The remaining net revenue transfers directly to the organizer's connected Stripe account or wallet balance.
The 5-Day Finalization Window
To accommodate score corrections and refund requests, automatic settlement runs on a 5-day grace period post-event. Admins can trigger immediate manual settlement via the event management dashboard once all scores are verified.
