Played as a guest? How to claim your temporary profile via /join/{token} and link all past matches, ratings, and stats to your permanent account.
If you played in an event before creating your Picklemix account, an organizer likely added you as a \"Placeholder\" or guest player so the tournament could start on time. Here is how to claim your profile, transfer your match history, and maintain your rating.
What Is a Placeholder Profile?
When an organizer creates a bracket or round robin, they can add unauthenticated players using a temporary name or phone tag (e.g., \"Alex M. (Guest)\"). Picklemix records:
- Every match result.
- Exact score margins and point differentials.
- Underlying Elo adjustments.
This match data is preserved under a unique Claim Token until linked to a registered account.
Step-by-Step: How to Claim Your Games

Get Your Claim Link: Ask the event organizer for your claim link, or check your SMS/email for a link formatted as:
https://picklemix.app/join/{token} - Open the Link in a Mobile Browser: The claim screen displays the guest name, event date, and list of recorded matches.

Sign In or Register:
- If you already have a Picklemix account, tap \"Link to My Existing Account\".
- If you are new, complete sign-up with your email or phone number.
- Transferring Match History and Ratings: Picklemix transfers ownership of the recorded matches from the temporary guest slot to your verified account.
What Happens to Your Rating?
Your rating does not reset to 3.00. Picklemix applies the match results retroactively, carrying over:
- Progress along the 20-game volatility ramp.
- Partner weighting and score margin multipliers.
- Head-to-head records against everyone you played.
Claiming Multiple Guest Slots Across Clubs
If you played at different clubs under guest names before registering, you can claim each link. Your account will aggregate all matches into a single history.
Organizer Tip: Resending Claim Links
Organizers can view unclaimed guest seats anytime at Event Management → Roster → Unclaimed Guests. Tapping \"Copy Token Link\" allows you to send the URL directly to players via SMS or chat.
