Skinny singles

Singles on half the court, crosscourt or by the score. A Quick Play game or match, a challenge court type, or a drill.

Oct 12, 2026 — Paul Stroud

Skinny singles is singles on half the court. Each rally is played into one half, so the game is about placement and the third shot rather than covering the whole court.

Two ways to play it

  • Crosscourt: every ball goes into the diagonal half. The other half is out.
  • By the score: each player stands on the right at an even score and the left at odd, and plays into the half in front of them. Two even scores are crosscourt; one even and one odd is down the line.
  • Which way, and the score to play to, is the organizer's call. Picklemix takes the score.

In Picklemix

  • Quick Play has Skinny singles game, one game, and Skinny singles match, a best-of series. Both are rated.
  • Challenge a Rival on Quick Play offers a Skinny court type for a singles challenge.
  • Drills has Skinny singles drill, scored as a game between the two players and unrated.

Next step

Create a Quick Play event and pick Skinny singles game or match, or send a challenge with the Skinny court type.
