Court King

Multiple courts start with 4 players assigned as partners. Winners move up a court, losers move down, and partners are redrawn on every court each round.

Aug 31, 2026 —

Court King is played in rounds. Each round is one game on every court. When the round is scored, the organizer draws the next one from the results: winners move up a court, losers move down, and the four players on each court are given new partners, avoiding a repeat where one is possible.

How a round works

  • Every court holds four players, split into two teams for one game.

  • When every court has a score, the organizer draws the next round.

  • Partners are redrawn each round. The draw avoids repeating a team where it can.

Moving between courts

  • The winning team moves up one court. The losing team moves down one.

  • On the top court, the winners stay.

  • On the bottom court, the losers stay.

  • If a game is tied, Team 1 on that court is treated as the winner.

The queue

Anyone who arrives after the courts are set up waits in a queue. When the next round is drawn:

  • Four waiting players open a new bottom court, if the event has room for one.

  • Otherwise the first two in the queue take the places of the bottom court's losers, who go back to the queue.

With Self Check-in on, players can queue themselves from Pulse.

What a player sees

  • Each time a round is drawn, players with a Picklemix account are told their court, partner and opponents by email, text, push and in-app notification, with a link to the Rounds page.

  • Scores are entered against the court's game.

  • Standings count games won, with point differential as the tiebreaker.

The numbers

  • Four players per court.

  • Courts open as players arrive, up to a fixed number if the organizer sets one.

  • No set number of rounds. The event ends when the organizer says so, and the final results are sent.

  • An entry fee, if you set one, works as for any event.
