Team Pickleball: 3-Person Matches
Teams of three where all players rotate onto the court at 5-point checkpoints within a single continuous game.
In Team Pickleball, the 3-Person Team Match brings dynamic trio play to the doubles court. Rather than playing separate sub-games, all three team members rotate through a single continuous game to 15 points, with substitutions triggered dynamically as scores reach 5-point checkpoints.
Team Lineup & Seat Order
Each team seats three players in fixed order (Seats 1, 2, and 3):
- Seats 1 & 2: The starting doubles pair on court for the opening rotation.
- Seat 3: Starts on the team bench, entering at the first score checkpoint.
- Optional Mixed Rule: When the mixed toggle is enabled, each roster must seat at least one female player, validated at roster lock.
Rotation & Substitution Schedule
A standard game plays to 15 points (win by 2) with substitutions occurring the moment either team reaches a multiple of the rotation threshold (default: 5 points):

Score Checkpoints & Player Stat Credits
Picklemix records running score checkpoints at each rotation:
- Verified Checkpoints: Scorekeepers enter the exact running score (e.g., 5–3, 10–7, 15–11) when players rotate.
- Individual +/- Attribution: The system calculates net points scored and conceded (Points For / Points Against) specifically for the two players who were physically on the court during that rotation.
- Uncapped Overtime: If overtime rotation is disabled, the active pair finishes the match to conclusion regardless of score extension.
